When selling your house, there are three big mistakes you need to avoid.

The first is incorrect pricing.

We live in a generation where buyers are very educated about the market. They have home searches set up through the MLS with their agent and they constantly look at sites like Zillow. They know when something comes on the market and if it’s priced too high, too low, or right at market value. Your goal should be to price your house perfectly so it generates urgency in the eyes of buyers because they know it’s not going to last long on the market. That way, they’ll be far more apt to submit an offer quickly.

The second mistake is not making your house available to show.

In our area, there’s a sizeable portion of buyers who only have a short window to look at your property in person. For any buyer who has relocated because of a job or may be active duty military personnel and only has the weekend to view properties, you have to make your house available to show and be flexible about it.

The third mistake is lack of exposure.

You never want to be a secret seller. Your goal should be to expose your house all over the place—not only here in San Antonio, but worldwide. We have a lot of people relocating to this area, so your property should be on every real estate website out there. Being secretive and just putting a ‘for sale’ sign on your lawn and stopping there isn’t going to cut it.
